Claudia Sheinbaum Highlights State Governments' Efforts

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, acknowledged the work done by state governments in security matters during an Informative Assembly in Mexico City. She highlighted that, thanks to the joint effort, intentional homicides were reduced at the national level by almost 15% between October 2024 and February 2025.

At the same event, Sheinbaum expressed the willingness of the Government of Mexico to continue collaborating with the White House in various areas. She emphasized that the suspension of tariffs on Mexican exports to the United States was the result of dialogue with President Donald Trump, the support of the Mexican people, and the work of the country's entrepreneurs.

President Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of strengthening the national economy through internal consumption. She proposed to boost the domestic market, increase self-sufficiency in food and energy, as well as promote public investment to generate jobs, among other measures.

The Governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro, was present at the Informative Assembly where the temporary suspension of the tariff increase on Mexican exports was announced. Lemus expressed his commitment and support to the federal administration in defending national sovereignty.

Lemus, through his official social media account, reiterated his willingness to work as a team with the Federal Government to provide better results for citizens. He emphasized the importance of putting aside partisan differences to ensure the interest and defense of Mexico.

The collaborative work between the federal and state governments, as well as the support of the Mexican people, were highlighted as fundamental pillars to achieve significant advancements in key areas such as security and the economy of the country.
